To Blog or Not to Blog

Hi all!

I have about 75 blog posts floating around in my head that I have yet to post...sigh. I keep vacillating on whether or not I'm going to keep blogging.

On the one hand, I really have a heart for embryo adoption and I've been able to talk to countless people about it through this blog.

On the other hand, much of what I blog about now is Matthew. While I like that it puts a face to embryos and demonstrates exactly what is at stake when we handle these precious little lives, I also know that reading a blog all about a toddler is not high on the list of people struggling through infertility.

On the other hand again though, I love that this has become a record for me and for Matthew even if for nobody else. I was reading through the posts right before and after his birth yesterday and I was so grateful that I had that recorded. As someone who hates to journal, blogging fills the void of documentation.

I tried to keep 2 blogs once... it just didn't work well. I don't have time to blog often, but if I don't blog regularly, people stop visiting, so with no readers, there's no real point anyway unless it's just to diary Matthew. Which is ok.

So anyway. I might be back...sometime! I do enjoy blogging, I just don't find I have the time or energy to keep up with it!

  1. I've been wondering about you. My blog has turned into a "mommy blog" now but that's ok... like you said, it's a great way to document my daughter's life. It nobody wants to read it, oh well! I vote keep blogging! =)

  2. Hi, I have been reading your blog for many years, and I would love it if you kept it up, even if it is sporatically. I am TTC, and currently considering EA, and I find watching Matthew grow up such an encouragement that EA is a wonderful choice. So don't stop writing because you don't think people are reading, I am always here, abeit quietly :)

  3. Please keep blogging even if you can only do it occasionally. I've been following since just after you got pregnant and I love hearing Mathew updates. Plus you post some great current events info regarding EA and pro-life issues.

  5. I agree; I would love sporadic updates Matthew. I think people that have followed you through the EA process will want to stay updated. And I know it's early to think about, but, are there little frozen siblings for Matthew?

  7. Count me as another vote for you to keep blogging. I love reading your updates on Matthew and just your life in general.

To those of your readers who only know you through your EA journey and this blog, I would love for them to know that you are the sweet, caring, loving and amazing woman that shines through this blog. I'm so grateful that we have had the chance to be friends for so long and to meet. Jen is a very real woman with a heart of gold!!

    Love and hugs,
    Cindy

  9. I'd love for you to keep blogging as well! It's such a gift to be able to hear things about Matthew and to see him, even though I'm across the world. I read every single post, but through Google Reader, and I rarely check in on the actual blogs to be able to comment. But I do read, and cherish the posts!
