Almost Matthew Monday

I have a bloggy friend, Kayla, who blogs about her darling daughter, Scarlette. She does a post called "Scarlette Saturdays" (or sometimes, "Scarlette Saturday") where she posts stats on what her little dear is doing. I thought that was a cute idea, so I think I'll borrow it. I keep saying I'm going to remember all this stuff, but most of the time I can't remember what I did an hour ago, so who am I kidding?

But Matthew starts with the letter M, so in order for my posts to have a cute alliteration title, they would have to be Matthew Mondays. Not such a bad plan, but that goes back to the whole remembering things notion. I'd have to remember to post this on Monday. Since I'm not banking on that actually happening, at least not while I simultaneously have a spare moment TO type, we're just going to pretend it's Monday. :D

Age: 4.5 months (*sniff sniff*)<--Mommy did NOT give you permission to be this old.

Stats (from your 4 month checkup): 16lbs, 14 oz, 26.5" long, putting you in the 90th percentile for both weight and height.

Current milestones: Rolling over, cutting two teeth (ALREADY!), your first lengthy cold (you've had two others that have lasted less than 24 hours but this current one has kind of kicked your little tushy)

Current loves: Sophie (seriously, you make out with Sophie every chance you get), your feet (you love to stare and grab at them, you haven't quite mastered eating them), hearing yourself talk (you gab all the time)!, playing possum with anyone who will let you (you seem to know you're cute!), bath time, your daddy, your doggy, your exersaucer, the jumperoo at church, blowing raspberries, singing (especially silly songs with daddy, who doesn't seem to know the actual words to ANY song), general socializing, hanging out in nothing but your diaper (you love it because we can easily tickle your cute little belly), standing up (with help).

Current dislikes: The swimming pool, (which totally bums mommy out but we're going to try again when the water is warmer!), naptime (also bumming mommy out!), battles of the will with daddy (they're usually about sleeping and you always lose!), your carseat, story time that takes too long, and pretty much anything else that keeps you still for longer than 10 seconds.

Current disposition: Generally pleasant, but very willful. You threw your first tantrum this week. Yes, at 4 months old. Something tells us Mommy and Daddy are in for a wild ride when you're a toddler.

  2. I am prepared to proven completely wrong but I have this theory that the younger a child is when you discover you need to help them appropriately process and express their feelings, the better those toddler days will actually go. Your family makes me smile. Have a great day!
